Although I like the WordPress theme Dkret3, but its fonts and the layout appear to be a bit crowded, and not so ease on the readers. Yesterday, after a few hours of modifying, I gave this blog a look with my personal flavors. The changes are:
- The margin between the list items as you can see from this list.
- Smaller fonts but larger margins. Make it easier for reading.
- Change the first font to be used into Verdana.
- Left-side bar with a smaller width.
- Added two plugins: PageNavi and Post Views . The author of these two plugins also made other fantastic WordPress plugins. For example, WP-Polls for online polling and WP-Sticky for making sticky posts are definitely worth trying.
- Changed the background color of Code content.
- Changed the background color and format of Blockquotes.
It is only untill the end of my tweaking I found and installed the Firefox addon — Firebug. It is a treasure and indespensible tool to modify CSS and see the result of the fly. It is so easy to use and so powerful in its functions that I am empowered to feel like an expert.
Also I find another close campion of WordPress blog administration — WinSCP. I can directly edit the files in my Web directory without the pain of using the snail-speed file manager of C-Panel.
If you want to make changes to your Dkret3 themes, you can refer to the two files attached in this post.
